AirPano is a Moscow based non-commercial group of photo enthusiasts, dedicated to creating hi-resolution aerial panoramas. Usually we photograph from a helicopter, however at times we use light jets, dirigibles, hot air balloons, and radio-controlled helicopters. During upcoming 2 years AirPano team will create aerial photo panoramas and virtual tours of the most significant places of our planet. We have already made over 500 panoramas showing over 100 amazing locations of the world, which you can view on our website. AirPano.com features the largest number of panoramas in the world. All our panoramas are of the highest artistic and technical quality. New virtual tours are published on AirPano.com weekly. What is a spherical panorama shown on the website? Unlike a traditional photograph, which locks its viewer in the frame of a flat print, or a video story that tells only what its director wants to tell, a spherical 360-degree panorama takes its viewer “on location” where he or she is free to move around and see everything there is to see. Modern technology gives a viewer, especially with a large screen in front of him, almost complete sense of presence on location of the spherical photo panorama: underwater, in a room, inside a microwave oven, or even up in the sky above New York City. You can zoom-in to study smaller details, or hop to entirely new place by one touch of your finger. There is only one limitation: it is still impossible to touch and feel objects, but we are working on it :)
