The Carithers Pediatric Group

The Carithers Pediatric Group, established in 1941 by Drs. Hugh and Connie Carithers, continues to build on its long tradition of providing excellent care for children in Northeast Florida. Both Dr. Hugh and Dr. Connie were instrumental in improving the standards in the field of pediatrics on the state and national level. Dr. Ray Edwards was the Carithers’ first partner and initiated a poison control center in our area. After Dr. Edwards’ death, Dr. Robert Threlkel from Vanderbilt University joined the Carithers in 1971. He followed their example of assuming leadership roles in both local and national pediatrics. Jacksonville native, Robert Colyer, was a patient of Dr. Hugh as a child. Following his education and a pediatric residency at Vanderbilt, Dr. Colyer returned to Jacksonville in 1977 and became a member of the group. Dr. Julie Baker joined the practice in 1983, from the University of Alabama at Birmingham program and both she and Dr. Colyer were quick to enter into leadership in both local, state and community medical organizations. The members of The Carithers Pediatric Group believe in sharing their gifts, education and experience with the larger community and encourage the physicians on their staff to follow their example. The practice grew through the years to include Dr. Paul Robinson in 1988 and Dr. James Cheek in 1990, both of whom trained at Vanderbilt. As Jacksonville grew so did the number of our physicians. Dr. Wendy Sapolsky joined the group in 1995 from Wake Forest, Dr. Kim Dal Porto and Dr. Raoul Sanchez joined in 1997 from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Dr. Amy Hardman joined in 1998 from Vanderbilt, Dr. Thomas Connolly joined in 2002 from the United States Air Force, Dr. Anne Egan joined in 2003 from a practice in Pittsburgh, Dr. Andreae Shaw joined in 2009 from the University of Florida, and Dr. Chanley Dudley joined in 2013 from Massachusetts General Hospital. Several of the doctors in the practice share the commonality of being patients as children or having strong roots in Jacksonville. Leah Copham, Meg Cheney, and Katie Mershon, all former patients, were our first pediatric nurse practitioners. Trudy English joined our group of nurse practitioners in 2010, Cari Trappe and Lindsay Wolf joined in 2012 and Gianna Agustin joined in 2013. In 1999, the Physicians formally named the practice, “The Carithers Pediatric Group” in honor of the legacy of Dr. Hugh and Dr. Connie and their hard work for the children of Jacksonville. At The Carithers Pediatric Group, we strive for excellence as physicians and staff and participate in efforts to make a healthier community. In return we have seen the larger community of Jacksonville and Northeast Florida express an appreciation for our work and service. Our group is not only about quality care for our patients, but medical leadership for our area. It’s all about giving back!

LiveHit is a core social discovery service built upon the foundation of real-time data intelligence, enabling Partners to track and manage how users are interacting with popular content and any live event on their site live in the moment LiveHit helps Partners gather, analyze, comprehend, and act upon real-time data analytics about any event-driven interaction within their site in the moment it is happening. Most Publishers have trouble guiding their traffic to the most valuable areas of their sites, and consequently cannot maximize their users&s; life-time value. LiveHit helps drive users to the most popular site pages Publisher have to offer, and then can increase ROI by monetizing those users once they get there. Partners connect their users with who&s;s hot and what&s;s hot across their site in real-time. LiveHit&s;s platform provides both backend real-time data analytics and frontend LiveMaps based on user interactions within Partner sites. This actionable data enables automated editorial programming, shows how users are concurrently consuming content, and gives insight into user and site usage patterns — all in real-time to provide immediate results. These results include the reduction of editorial programming costs, and the ability for marketers to extend reach and relevance through increased response rates of social media marketing programs and ad-targeting. The end result is a more relevant social discovery and analytical service that drives distribution, engagement, and monetization for partners while providing a core discovery service for end-users.

Prive.pm

Let’s be honest, romance has changed (bigly) since the advent of the Apple iPhone in 2007. Since then, a myriad of social apps have created ways for eager people to share content in the digital age. However, while some apps claim that your hot pictures “disappear” there’s one thing they do know about technology - what goes in the cloud stays in the cloud. They thought there had to be a better way. In 2017 our team set out to create an MVP of a product that would allow people to share and exchange snaps safely and securely, without the fear of getting an account banned. Fast forward to now, they are still iterating fast to be the web’s number destination for like-minded people to share snaps.

Stars Community Development Corporation

S.T.A.R.S. Community Development Corporation is dedicated to uplifting disadvantaged communities in Las Vegas by disrupting at-risk lifestyles and helping individuals and families become empowered and successful. Its primary focus is mentoring youth to prevent teen pregnancy and ensure high school graduation. S.T.A.R.S. (Striving To Achieve Real Success) targets middle and high school students. Goal-Oriented and Family Engaged Youth Program Each student enters the program with specific written goals and S.T.A.R.S. creates benchmarks for six-week, six-month, one-year, and five-year time frames. Both the summer camp, Saturday, and the after-school mentoring program are designed to engage not only individual students but their families as well. This holistic approach results in deeper, more sustained emotional investment on the part of students, reinforcing the positive attitudes and behavior that lead to better academic performance and improved family and peer relationships. Involving their families amplifies the benefits because the more engaged parents are in their children’s academic and social development, the more effective outside mentoring and support can be. Involving the whole family can also help eliminate logistical barriers to participation.

Coaction Group

Establishing a place for people to get their life turned around or back on track. we don’t want there to be a single thing that can’t be achieved to help someone. With this set up, it is dependent on what a person is able to do to better themselves. We believe that real change comes from a person’s will to change their situation, change their environment, and grow themselves. We want to have a building or building(s) for people to have space for what they need to do as well as what they want to do. Shelter, residence, food, jobs, education, self-sufficiency, extracurricular, facilities. An abundance of problems may be at the mercy of a lack of resources/opportunities, with Coaction, we plan on eliminating the issues of today and making a new wave for tomorrow.

FaceKoo

Created and designed by FaceKoo, Inc., a private company based in Beijing, FaceKoo already enjoys more than 1.2 million members through a successful beta soft launch in March, 2008. FaceKoo, its name derived from the words “face” and “cool,” offers free membership and a brand new way of meeting friends via a face recognition system. Other applications that are attractive to young users are also integrated – forums, groups, casual games, voting, online pets and war games—all easily accessed through one cutting-edge, customizable interface. FaceKoo is creating revenue through online advertising, sale of digital goods, and through its latest e-commerce operations. Users are rewarded with Koo Dollars--a virtual currency tied to FaceKoo&s;s economic system--for contributing contents. Over 7 million Koo Dollars are earned and over 6 million Koo Dollars were purchased. However, online advertising is still FaceKoo&s;s leading revenue source. Since its niche focus on generation-Y users in urban cities in China, it attracts clients from entertainment industries and online gaming operators. The Chinese-language-only site targets the huge youth market in the world’s most populous country--with more than 338 million internet users. FaceKoo’s creators are now focusing on converting these young user base into repeat customers on its e-commerce platform.

Kids In Code

Kids In Code is an incubator to help accelerate educational technology founders for the benefit of getting children between 5-12 to learn to code and design. Technology is everywhere. No matter what field you choose to be in, you will need to know tech and interact with it closely. So, is there any question that coding today is much like Math or English? Coding is a language. A tool in your toolbox. A way to get things done. Bring ideas into reality. It is what frees you (and the little girls in your life) to have ideas around your true interests and passions. If a lot of girls get exposed to coding early on, it can change the kind of innovations created in the future.
