Vollspark develops a solid-state transformer into a real-time remotely controlled smart devices, which contributes to grid stability and resilience. Their technology facilitates a great increase in the percentage of distributed generation and renewable energy acceptable by the grid. This is attained by real-time optimizing the voltage at many points in the distribution grid. Vollspark (previously Volex Power) is using power electronics to introduce a new class of agile and intelligent grid infrastructure, designed to solve utilities’ current and emerging challenges while laying the foundation for a modern distribution grid. Vollsparks’ Partial Power Processing (P3) technology enhances existing infrastructure to provides flexibility and fast dynamic response and will be a major contributor to the stability of the future power grid. It was founded in 2016 with a seed investment from the Israeli Electric Company and Tel Aviv University.
