Among these companies are Yahoo!; Cerent (sold to Cisco in 1999 for $7 Billion); Hotmail, WebTV, LinkExchange and Vxtreme (sold to Microsoft in the late 1990s); and Rosetta Inpharmatics (sold to Merck in 2001 for $540 Million).
