Description
SILS was established to bring together the province&s;s 10 public library systems, as well as the provincial library &a; literacy office, a branch of the ministry of education, to provide Saskatchewan residents with unprecedented access to library resources and to enable members to collaborate on joint projects and purchases that would benefit everyone in the province. SILS receives funding from regional, municipal, and northern library system boards. The Saskatchewan government also contributes to the consortium, including the service that transports hundreds of bins of library materials across the province every week. It provide easy access to materials held at over 300 public library branches.
