Sandbox Startups was launched by Deshpande Foundation in 2008 with the aim to penetrate into 70% of India&s;s untapped market. With a growing population of over 1.3 billion in India, currently 1.1 billion reside in tier 2 &a; tier 3 communities, where the needs of these individuals are underserved. Therefore, Sandbox Startup is the largest incubation center located outside of major metros that allows entrepreneurs to realize their full potential while also equipping them with the necessary tools to accelerate need-based solutions for the semi-urban and rural populations. The incubation center aims to build an entrepreneurial ecosystem that supports entrepreneurship, innovation, and sustainability. Sandbox Startups offers a unique and powerful environment where mission-driven entrepreneurs are inspired to innovate, develop solutions to problems, and have a positive impact on the community. The incubation center provides strategic mentorship, incubation support, and access to financial and marketing connections. In addition, entrepreneurs have access to the state-of-the-art ESDM cluster and Makers Lab that allows them to test, experiment, prototype, and build successful ventures. With the objective to empower communities, build leaders, and catalyze innovative thinking, Sandbox Startups is determined to assist entrepreneurs in creating a sustainable business model, while also giving them the tools to take charge of their own lives. The living laboratory has expanded to two states, Karnataka and Telangana, and operating three incubation centers located in Hubli, Belgaum, and Nizamabad. Their growth ensures that they are able to empower more entrepreneurs and give them the confidence to move towards success quickly. Till date, Sandbox Startups has supported and nurtured more than 80 startups and over 100 early stage entrepreneurs to reach their goals, which resulted in over 60 crores of revenue generated by these startups. Sandbox Startups is determined to provide support that will not only allow entrepreneurs to embrace change but lead it as well.
