It can be used to display your reputation amount your peers, or your popularity if you are an aspiring celebrity, etc.The way it works is that, you sign-up and put your full name, bio and self-photo on your profile, and then get your friends to "+" you. The total +pluses you get from your friends become your online rating. You can then use this rating to show other people how you are popular amoungst your friends or certain social circle.
