Description
Montgomery Education Foundation (MEF) was founded in 2000 as a program of the Central Alabama Community Foundation. Community leaders recognized the importance of supporting the public school system as an investment in their children, their community and their future. Since its founding, the foundation has focused its efforts on supporting the Alabama Reading Initiative, providing professional development for school administration and staff, the promotion of student achievement, the encouragement of public engagement, the development of school readiness (Pre-K programs) and the creation of the Brain Forest Summer Learning program.
