About 150 ski freeriders die in avalanche each year. The current technology used by skiers today is the avalanche victim detector (AVD). About 50 000 AVD are sold each year. The search for victims using an AVD is usually slow and user dependent. Time is the most crucial factor in the search of victim. That is why we aim to automatize the process of search using a portable drone to reduce the human factors. LYF rescue drone localises the victim, contact the rescuing team and assists the skier.
