Ions are everywhere in nature and ions are responsible for diverse phenomena from the Earth&s;s ionosphere to the luminescence of the Sun. Ions can be chemically or non-chemically prepared using various ion sources generally involving high voltage or high temperature. These ions are used in a multitude of devices such as water ionizers, mass spectrometers, optical emission spectrometers, particle accelerators, ion implanters, and ion engines. As reactive charged particles, they are also used in air purification by disrupting microbes, and in household items such as smoke detectors and water purifiers. We are in process of developing breakthrough technology to apply ion measuring technology to obtain a signature no measure a variety of things. This technology will have a wide range of commercial applications in many of the world’s multi-billion dollar industries.
