The MetaScanner is the first part of a radical digitisation process where existing 8, 16 or 35mm film travels quickly through a simple, sprocket-less system. This film-friendly approach is exceptionally gentle, and ensures that any contact is kept to an absolute minimum. Images are captured at speeds of up to 25 frames per second, shooting in super high definition up to 8k to ensure every detail is preserved. Innovative MetaWeaver software then enhances the image before vital information such as content descriptions, film languages, or subtitles are stored in ‘digital air’.
