To help face down this challenge, Great British Prawns Ltd, with our commercial and academic partners, have been working towards a sustainable production model for locally grown, premium quality seafood. The term ‘sustainability’ is key – we are striving to maximise the quality of our product whilst working within the carrying capacity of our surrounding ecosystem. By using cutting-edge Recirculating Aquaculture Systems (RAS), and some of the best minds in aquaculture industry today, GBP has developed such a sustainable prawn production model. We will build our first farm in Scotland and once demand outpaces supply we will scale up as needed.
