Global Radio became the UK&s;s largest commercial radio group in 2008 when it bought the assets of both Chrysalis Radio and GCap Media in 2007 and 2008 respectively. Home of national radio service Classic FM as well as quasi-national networks Heart, Galaxy and Gold, the group also owns specialist stations Xfm, Choice, LBC and a number of local radio stations across the South of England and South Wales which make up the Hit Music Network. Global Radio have their own in-house interactive team producing their station websites as well as a Creative Technology team who explore new opportunities with digital radio and mobile platforms. There are currently 31 mobile applications produced by Global Radio across Apple&s;s App Store, the Android Market Place and the Ovi Store.
