Enlightenment Productions creates, produces and distributes entertaining independent feature films, television content and books of integrity and individuality. Their latest feature, Despite the Falling Snow, is based on Co-Founder Shamim Sarif’s acclaimed novel and written and directed by Shamim. The movie stars Rebecca Ferguson and Charles Dance and is produced by Hanan Kattan, Co-Founder and CEO of Enlightenment Productions. It is due for release in 2015. Enlightenment’s first two features, The World Unseen and I Can’t Think Straight won a stunning 34 international awards between them, and the former film was selected to debut at the Toronto International Film Festival. These two films have generated a huge worldwide following, with over 100 million YouTube hits on videos related to the films such as trailers and clips. Award-winning producer Hanan Kattan co-curated the TEDxHolyLand conference in 2010 in Jerusalem, a unique event that inspired her to produce and appear in the documentary The House of Tomorrow, focused on women changing the future in Palestine and Israel. The conference was produced through the Sarif-Kattan Foundation. The company also releases other entertainment media including the movie editions of Shamim’s award-winning books and the soundtracks to two of their movies. An accomplished speaker, Shamim Sarif has spoken at TED events in London, Jerusalem and India, as well as at corporate events for companies such as Deloitte and Goldman Sachs. Enlightenment’s offices in Kingston-upon-Thames is home to two state of the art Avid editing suites that are available for rental to other film, TV and commercial productions.
