DermaDetect was co-founded a year ago by four experienced entrepreneurs and is clinically led by Prof. Arieh Ingber, former head of department of dermatology in Hadassa Medical Center in Israel, a world-renowned dermatologist. We&s;ve developed a diagnostics &a; treatment tool/app (Apple, Android, Web), which enables healthcare professionals and patients to self-triage &a; manage skin disorders. The underlying technology is based on the combination of two approaches: dermatological rule base inference &a; image analysis using machine learning. We’re in a progress of a pilot-study to validate the effectiveness of our technology within the Israeli Health system, which is world’s best sandbox for such a study. Funded by two angel investors, eHealth Ventures [and their partners: Maccabi Healthcare Services in Israel (second biggest HMO in Israel), the Cleveland Clinic (the second largest healthcare provider in the US), Amgen], and supported by the Israel Innovation Authority.
