Buddybet is a social entertainment platform offering a ‘world first’ innovative gaming product where customers place social bets against friends and can comment, chat, like, share, copy and result bets. Social betting is a game played primarily for fun, validation or to socialise. In 2017 Buddybet founder Scott Didier AM first had the idea to digitise the Handshake Bet that generations of Australians had grown up with. The platform removes the need for the middleman found in traditional betting companies and allows users to type in free-form bets and directly challenge their buddies and the wider Buddybet community. In 2020, Buddybet received its Betting Licence from the Northern Territory Racing Commission (NTRC).
