Boatwasher conducts intensive lobbying work to open the eyes of boat owners to alternative methods of bottom painting. In collaboration with Håll Sverige Rent, boat washing stations were then opened in Nynäshamn (2000), Trosa (2005), and Lidingö (2008). A total of 23 brush washing stations have been opened in Sweden. Of the approximately 4,000 boat owners in Sweden who have stopped bottom painting and adopted the bottom washing method, approx. 90% of their boats in a BoatWasher boat bottom wash. The first BoatWasher in Sweden was started in 1997.
