Blipsocial is your location aware mobile portal. It brings location relevant content to your mobile experience, with or without the need for GPS. This downloaded application also includes a launchpad for a variety of mobile services. Blipsocial has launched their public beta on Blackberry devices world-wide and will soon launch an iPhone application. A developer API is also available for other parties who want to localize some of their information or web applications without having to go through the trouble of building a local java app from the ground up. If appropriate, they may also place their apps on the Blipsocial launchpad. Current applications include: * Facebook-powered buddy finder - check out all of your friends&s; status and locations (if shared). Blipsocial facebook application must also be added for this functionality. * Yelp-powered local search based on your current location. * Local Notes: a geo tagged twitter which lets you post and see comments of those around you. * BART realtime train tracking - find the next train at the nearest station.
