Albedo Informatics is a Toronto-based locative and augmented reality application developer with a focus on creating experiences that enrich users’ lives. Albedo Informatics is the creator of L.A.R.G.E. (Location-based Augmented Reality (AR) Gaming Engine), a flexible toolkit for the creation of location-based and AR experiences. It enables anyone – from teenagers, to game designers, businesses, brands and educators – to create location-based and AR projects, including simple audio or video tours, timed scavenger hunts with AR elements, and multi-player real-world fantasy RPGs. L.A.R.G.E. is a flexible and adaptable system that turns the world into a canvas for users to create an unlimited number of experiences. Users build experiences through a simple web interface and share their projects with friends (or the entire L.A.R.G.E. user base) who can access various projects through the L.A.R.G.E. mobile client that can be installed on smartphones. Although initially L.A.R.G.E. projects will be played on smartphones, we anticipate a time when our platform will power numerous applications that will be played on heads-up displays.
